Toshiba Announces "TB67H400A" 2-Channel Brushed Motor Driver IC
TOKYO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Toshiba Corp. (TOKYO: 6502) recently announced that the company has launched a 2-channel brush motor driver integrated circuit "TB67H400A" that supports high voltage and high current. Samples of the product were delivered today, and mass production is scheduled for October this year.
"TB67H400A" is built with the latest high-voltage analog process, which achieves a maximum rated value of 50V and a low on-resistance of 0.5Ω (maximum value, sum of high and low ends) during motor drive output [1], for 2-channel drive, Each channel supports a maximum output current of 4.0A. When using a 2-channel parallel output as a 1-channel driver, Toshiba's original parallel channel control function (large mode) can provide a maximum output current of 8.0A.
The driver integrated circuit is launched in four packages to meet the diverse needs of customers. For example, the size of the device is reduced by a compact package, and the high-power dissipation package is used for the continuous current working equipment.

1. High current drive
The maximum on-resistance is reduced to 0.5Ω (the sum of high and low ends), and the maximum output current of 4.0A per channel (4.0A x 2 channels) is achieved. Large mode supports a maximum output current of 8.0A (8.0A x 1 channel).
2. Package lineup
The heat dissipation ZIP package can improve the allowable power consumption, thereby supporting applications that require continuous motor drive with high current.
The compact QFN and HTSSOP packages help to reduce the size of equipment and reduce material costs.
HSOP packaging helps to achieve fluid welding on phenolic paperboard with increasing demand to reduce PCB costs.
3. Integrated anomaly detection function
These integrated circuits integrate an over-temperature shutdown circuit, an over-current shutdown circuit, and an undervoltage lockout circuit to help improve the reliability of the device.
