Vehicle-mounted systems are developing in the direction of intelligence, informatization and networking. The automotive market has become an important growth point for the electronics industry. The automotive Bluetooth application introduced in this article mainly uses a mobile phone as a wireless gateway, and the vehicle-mounted system is connected to the mobile phone through a Bluetooth wireless link and then connected to an external wireless network. The full application of Bluetooth in the vehicle system needs to solve the hardware and software problems. The hardware implements the radio frequency and baseband parts of Bluetooth. The operating temperature range, reliability, and price are the key issues that should be considered when designing the hardware. Various upper-layer functions of the vehicle-mounted system are implemented by software. As the main application of Bluetooth in the vehicle-mounted system, the hands-free phone has mature application specifications and has been supported by many mobile phone manufacturers.

As shown in Figure 1, the RF chip provides wireless two-way transmission of data and voice in the 2.4GHz band. The baseband chip includes hardware such as frequency hopping, channel encryption and decryption, authentication, SCO voice codec, and firmware such as link management and HCI interface. The processor runs core software such as the Bluetooth upper protocol stack, application specifications, and voice algorithms. For the convenience of description, this article refers to the radio frequency, baseband, and processor as the Bluetooth subsystem. Car audio provides input and output of sound for the Bluetooth subsystem through the microphone and speaker in the car. The main controller runs software such as human-machine interface (MMI), centrally manages and manages the Bluetooth subsystem, car audio and other in-vehicle electronic devices, and displays relevant information on a graphical user interface (GUI).
